

















The parisian “grands ensembles”, constructed in the 1960-70 by modernist visionaries to replace the slums accumulated around the french capital were created as utopian social housing estates . 60 years onward the word banlieue brings out a lot of images, none of them utopian. Too far from the city, awkward architecture and lack of opportunities have made the Banlieues a very unique place yet also home for millions of people. Interested by their history and architecture Ruben decided to bring these hidden bastions of social housing out of the shadows and into the city.
