La ville, malade de ces Banlieues?
The parisian “grands ensembles”, constructed in the 1960-70 by modernist visionaries to replace the slums accumulated around the french capital were created as utopian social housing estates . 60 years onward the word banlieue brings out a lot of images, none of them utopian. Too far from the city, awkward architecture and lack of opportunities have made the Banlieues a very unique place yet also home for millions of people. Interested by their history and architecture I decided to bring these hidden bastions of social housing out of the shadows and into the city.
